CHARLESTON -- James L. "Floyd" Cogdill, 78, Charleston Route 2, died Friday, Nov. 8, 1991, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. He was born July 11, 1913, at East Prairie, son of James H. and Hazel Lang Cogdill. Cogdill was a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He farmed until retiring in 1989. CHARLESTON -- James L. "Floyd" Cogdill, 78, Charleston Route 2, died Friday, Nov. 8, 1991, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born July 11, 1913, at East Prairie, son of James H. and Hazel Lang Cogdill.

Cogdill was a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He farmed until retiring in 1989. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

On July 21, 1945, he married Helen Mae Stallings.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Oline Cogdill of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; brothers, George Cogdill of Charleston, Billy Cogdill of East Prairie; Eugene Cogdill of Gary, Ind., Frank Cogdill of Kewanee, Ill. Mervin Cogdill of Poplar Grove, Ill., Harold Cogdill of Champaign, Ill.; sisters, Oline Laughlin and Mary Delk of Bertrand.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at McMikle Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Raymond Kunkel officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
