MILLER CITY, Ill. -- James F. Ice, 92, of Miller City died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Feb. 5, 1911, in Miller City, son of James Madison and Stella Beatrice Simpson Ice. He married Pearl Davison.
Ice was a member of Caledonia Lodge 47 AF&AM in Olive Branch, Ill., Ainad Shrine Temple of East St. Louis, Ill., KIM Shrine Club in Cairo, Ill.; member and past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star; member and deacon of Lake Milligan Baptist Church in Miller City.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Forrest Ice of Miller City; a daughter, Betty Williams of Olive Branch; three sisters, Martha Nearing of Carbondale, Ill., Florence Miller of Murphysboro, Ill., Audrey Hood of Van Cleave, Miss.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo from 6 to 8 p.m. today. A Masonic service will be held at 7:30 by Caledonia Lodge 47.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Verlee Eaker and Dr. Larry Potts officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge, Ill.
