JACKSON -- James Huntley McDonald, 81, of Jackson, died at his home on Thursday, Sept. 3, 1992.
He was born Sept. 29, 1910 in Cape Girardeau County, the son of James T. and Elizabeth Huntley McDonald.
He was married in Chicago on Dec. 12, 1942 to Lucille Brue. She survives of Jackson.
He graduated of Central Missouri State University at Warrensburg in 1948. He was an instructor in automotive technology at several high schools in Southeast Missouri, and was later an instructor at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, retiring in 1971.
During World War II, he was employed by the U.S. government to work on Air Force aircrafts in the United States, Egypt and India.
He lived in Jackson for nine years after moving from Carterville, Ill. and was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson.
Other survivors are two sisters, Evelyn Donnell of Crystal City and Elizabeth Mitter of St. Louis County; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Funeral service will be held today at 2 p.m. at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson with the Rev. Otto Steinhaus officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 9 a.m. to time of service.
