KARNAK, Ill. -- James Howell, 71, of Beaver Dam, Wis., died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2000, at Columbus Health Care Center in Columbus, Wis.
He was the son of Samuel and Lucille Lippert Howell.
He attended Grinnel College in Iowa and received a bachelor's degree in math from the University of Illinois.
Howell worked at McDonnell Aircraft, and had been an actuary for Railway Retirement Co. He had also operated a farm near Beaver Dam.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his mother of Beaver Dam; and a sister, Martha Sundstrom of Beaver Dam.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ken Sharp officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Cemetery at Boaz.
