James Franklin Harris, 58, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, July 3, 2004, in Cape Girardeau.
He was born on Nov. 16, 1945, at Cape Girardeau, son of Leo and Lemma Benton Harris.
He was self-employed and a lifetime resident of Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include his mother, Lemma Harris of Cape Girardeau; two sons, James Michael Harris of Cape Girardeau and James Richard Harris of Sikeston, Mo.; a stepson, Rodney Gene Harris of Cape Girardeau; a stepdaughter, Bobbi Joe Proffer of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Eddie Harris and Tommy Burns Harris of Cape Girardeau; four sisters, Betty Suttles of Dayton, Ohio, Carolyn Dodds of Gordonville, Sharon Ayers of Lancaster, Texas, Mary Criddle of Cape Girardeau; and a grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his father, a stepfather and a sister.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Don Henson and David Suttles officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
