STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo. -- James E. Grobe, 68, of Ste. Genevieve died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2003, at his home.
He was born July 19, 1935, in Festus, Mo., son of James E. and Floy L. Casteel Grobe. He and Rosella A. Kertz Grobe were married Sept. 20, 1958.
Grobe was employed at Ste. Genevieve Manufacturing for 24 years. He was also the first administrator of Riverview Manor Nursing Home, founder of the Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital in 1964, a past president of the Ste. Genevieve Chamber of Commerce and a past grand knight of the Ste. Genevieve Knights of Columbus Council.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Grobe of Webster Groves, Mo.; four daughters, Ann Bonnell of Ste. Genevieve, Lisa Job of Kelso, Mo., Nancy Buckingham of Crystal Lake, Ill., and Gina Herzog of Cape Girardeau; one sister, Darlene Miller of Columbia, Mo.; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandchild.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of Ste. Genevieve, with the Rev. Daniel Mosley officiating. Burial will be at Valle Spring Cemetery in Ste. Genevieve.
