James Edward Green Sr., 73, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016, at his home.
He was born Feb. 15, 1943, in Cape Girardeau, son of Eberhart Perr and Golda Linebarger. He and Linda Stevenson were married Feb. 20, 1987. She survives.
James was a member of Abbey Road Christian Church in Cape Girardeau.
He worked at Lammert's Furniture in St. Louis, Atlas Plastics in Cape Girardeau, the merchandising department of Sears in Cape Girardeau, was the electronics-department manager for Kmart in Cape Girardeau and for Cape County Transit Authority in Cape Girardeau. In 1988, James moved to Lakeland, Florida, where he worked as the electronics-department manager for Kmart. James then moved to Palm Bay, Florida, in 1990, where he was a real estate agent/broker. He later relocated to Port St. John, Florida, where he opened his own real-estate agency known as James Green Realty.
Loving survivors include his wife; two sons, Bill (Jennifer) Green of Highland, California, and James (Christina) Green Jr. of Clarkston, Washington; six grandchildren, Connor and McKenzie of Highland and Gavin, Carson, Macy and Trace Green of Clarkston.
He was preceded in death by his mother and his stepfathers, Harry Rapp and William Green.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at Abbey Road Christian Church.
A memorial service will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at the church, with the Revs. James Green Jr. and Ron Routledge officiating. For those attending the services, please use the south entrance of the church.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, Safe Harbor Animal Rescue or Abbey Road Christian Church.
