James Richard Gettings, 41, of Lowry City, Mo., died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, at his home. He had been ill two years.
He was born April 16, 1966, in Cape Girardeau, son of William H. "Bill" and Stephen Lynn Peal Gettings.
Gettings grew up in Cape Girardeau and after high school he studied electronics, audio and video equipment in the U.S. Navy and in private business.
After his military duty he was a troubleshooter and bench technician for companies such as Applied Micro Technologies, Duncan Aviation and Colortyme. He built test equipment and maintained service manuals.
Survivors include his parents; a daughter, KC Rae Gettings; and a brother, William K. Gettings.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home in Osceola, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.
