James Farrar

James Norman Farrar, 63, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, at his home. He was born May 15, 1940, in Advance, Mo., son of Jimmy Jackson Bowers and Montez Farrar. Farrar moved to Cape Girardeau when he was four years old and lived here ever since. He worked for McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis for 12 years. He worked for Seabaugh Flooring Co. for 12 years and was then self-employed as a hardwood flooring installer until retirement...

James Norman Farrar, 63, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, at his home.

He was born May 15, 1940, in Advance, Mo., son of Jimmy Jackson Bowers and Montez Farrar.

Farrar moved to Cape Girardeau when he was four years old and lived here ever since. He worked for McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis for 12 years. He worked for Seabaugh Flooring Co. for 12 years and was then self-employed as a hardwood flooring installer until retirement.

Farrar served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1965.

Survivors include a son, Jon Farrar and daughter-in-law, Tori, of O'Fallon, Mo.; a daughter, Tracey Moss and son-in-law, James, of Scott City, Mo.; fiancée, Beverly Ruff; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel, with the Rev. Ken Strong and Rev. Charles Seabaugh officiating.

Burial will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Bloomfield, Mo. Military graveside rites will be conducted by VFW Post 3838.
