James Francis Tilley, 67, 173 Tilley Road, died Friday, Aug. 25, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 23, 1927, in Cape Girardeau, son of Robert N. and Adath Rees Tilley. He and Mary Schweain were married June 3, 1950, in Piggott, Ark.
Tilley had worked at Leming Mill, farmed at Chaffee, worked at Federal Materials, Lesem Tire Co., Sides Construction, Cape Special Road District 13 years, and then went back to construction work retiring in 1990.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Jim Tilley of Wide Cliff, Colo.; four daughters, Karen Allen of Burfordville, Jean Tucker of Advance, Patsy Gibson of Cape Girardeau, Candy Knickerbocker of Port Orchard, Wash.; his mother of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Kenneth Tilley of Jackson, Lavana Tilley of Sanford, Fla.; two sisters, Darlene Allen of Cape Girardeau, Linda McDonald of Houston, Texas; 12 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the chapel, with Capt. Robert Gauthier officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
