SIKESTON -- James F. "Jay" Bryant, 74, of Sikeston, died Tuesday, April 13, 1993, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born April 2, 1919, at Morley, son of James H. and Effie Mae Penny Bryant. He and Willene McCray were married Aug. 20, 1945. She died June 2, 1991.
Bryant worked at Fabick Brothers Equipment Co. 37 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star.
Survivors include a son, Alan Bryant of Dayton, Ohio; two daughters, Nancy Schlapper of Los Alamos, N.M., Penny Hoppe of Sikeston; two sisters, Margarite Coat of Tucson, Ariz., Freda Stewart of Johnstown, Pa.; six grandchildren, and two stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Ponder Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Jim Guffie will officiate, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today. A Masonic service will be held at 7.
