SIKESTON -- James Edna Freeman, a resident of Sells Rest Home in Matthews, formerly of Sikeston, died Saturday, Aug. 22, 1992, at Missouri Delta Medical Center. She was 84.

She was born Nov. 22, 1907, in Gibson County, Tenn., to the late Robert Lee and Ada Barnes Harris.

In 1919, she married John F. Freeman, who preceded her in death on June 15, 1971.

Survivors include: eight sons, Aubry Freeman of Kenton, Tenn., Robert Freeman of Sikeston, Eldon Freeman of Dyer, Tenn., Tommy Freeman of Sikeston, J.D. Freeman of Bell City, Sanford Freeman of Fisk, Henry Freeman of Sikeston and Charles Freeman of Parma; four daughters, Opal Roberts of Parma, Ada Drake of Kenton, Tenn., Mary Ruth Duck of Aurora, Ill., Jodie Sprous of Charter Oak, Mo.; a half-sister, Lula Smith of Milan, Tenn.; 46 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.

One daughter, a half-brother and six grandchildren preceded her in death.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. The body will be moved to the Shelton Funeral Home in Trenton, Tenn., where visitation will be after 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Shelton Funeral Chapel and burial will follow at Follis Chapel Cemetery in Trenton.
