MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- James Robert Eachus, 84, of Scott City died Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009, at Woodland Hills in Marble Hill.
He was born Feb. 3, 1925, in Morley, Mo., to Arthur and Amanda McDonough Eachus. He married Elizabeth Amelia Peterson on May 4, 1946. She preceded him in death Sept. 12, 1987.
Eachus worked as a trainman for Cotton Belt Railroad, was a member of the VFW in Ste. Genevieve, Mo., and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.
He is survived by a son, Robert (Teresa) Eachus of Marble Hill; a daughter, Wendy Gramm of Scott City; a sister, Ruth Sandgren of Nixa, Mo.; six grandchildren, Cassandra Harju, James and John Eachus, Elizabeth and Angela Ward and Daniel Eachus; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at the chapel, with the Rev. Rennie Phillips officiating.
Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City, with graveside military rites by Missouri's Military Funeral Honors Program.
