SIKESTON -- James E. Turner, 70, died Saturday, March 11, 2000, at Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston.
He was born Dec. 31, 1929. in Elvins, son of the late Glen and Blanche Moyer Turner. He married Dorothy Boehm Nov. 23, 1957, in Potosi. She preceded him in death April 7, 1999.
He had worked as an electrician with the IBEW Local #1 of St. Louis. He was a Korean War veteran, where he served as a staff sergeant for the U.S. Air Force.
He was a former resident of Arnold and had lived in Sikeston 31 years. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church, Knights of Columbus #3151, Elks Lodge #2319 and Sikeston Eagle Aeries Lodge #3319.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jeff Turner and David and Sara Turner, all of Sikeston; one daughter and son-in-law, DeAnna and Donnie Nelson of Sikeston; one sister, Melba Kearns of Festus; and seven grandchildren.
Friends may call at Blanchard Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today. Rosary will begin at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be recited at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Xavier Church, with Msgr. William Stanton officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories in Sikeston.
