MATTHEWS -- James Doyal Jackson, 73, of Matthews, died Wednesday, July 15, 1992, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born April 29, 1919, in Double Springs, Ala., son of Walter and Nora Curtis Jackson. He and Floy LeMay were married Dec. 29, 1939, in Vina, Ala.

Jackson was a carpenter, and member of Tanner Street Church of God.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Doyal and Bruce Jackson of Van Buren; two daughters, Leslie Whitten of Matthews, Brenda Hall of Red Bay, Ala.; three sisters, Mary Wagley of Matthews, Nova Williams of Bertrand, Cloa Horton of Westville, Okla.; 13 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with burial in Matthews Cemetery.
