Funeral rites for James Ray Cook of Indianapolis, Ind., formerly of Commerce, Mo., will be conducted by Edwards Family Mortuary in Indianapolis.
He was born Feb. 3, 1956, at Rolla, Mo., and passed away Sunday, Oct. 29, 2006.
He was preceded in death by his father, Andy Cook in 1960, and stepfather, Dick Brazel in 2004.
He is survived by his mother, Nita Brazel; two brothers, Steve Brazel and Shawn (Robin) Brazel; two nephews, Cody and Dylan Brazel, all of Jackson.
Also surviving is his loving companion, Ruth Sander; his best little buddy, Zackary Ransdell of Indianapolis; and his grandmother, Wanda Dodson of Scott City.
James served eight years in the U.S. Navy, and was engaged in construction work until retiring with a heart condition in 2000.
He was a former member of Commerce United Methodist Church.
Being an avid hunter and fisherman, his final resting place will be in Brown City, Ind., by the lake area that he most loved to fish and hunt in.
