EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- James E. Coleson, 75, of East Prairie, formerly of Mounds, Ill., died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Feb. 28, 1935, in Mounds, to Lloyd Edgar and Ruby Bell Harp Coleson. He married Barbara S. Henderson.
Coleson was a member of Olmsted Pentecostal Church. He was a truck driver and retired from John Dallings Trucking. He had also been a fishing guide on Horseshoe Lake and worked at the Silica Mine in Olive Branch, Ill.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara, of East Prairie; three daughters, Debbie Smith of Olive Branch, Vickie Barnes of Villa Ridge, Ill., Beverly Wilson of Pulaski, Ill.; a son, Carl Coleson of Mounds; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Tom Coleson of Cape Girardeau, Herschel Coleson of Olive Branch; three sisters, Marian Sams and Sharon Foster of Olive Branch, Judy Perkins of Seymour, Tenn.; nieces; nephews; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Harry and Bill.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ralph Kaufman officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes, Ill.
