THEBES, Ill. -- James Clifford Allen, 83, of Thebes, Ill., died Monday, March 17, 1997, at the Jonesboro Life Care Center.

He was born April 28, 1913, in Wolf Lake, Ill., son of William and Mary Gruley Allen. He had retired from Burkhart's Foam Inc. of Cairo, Ill.

He is survived by one sister, Birdie Tayon, of Granite City, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. today at the Jones Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill. Funeral service will be 12:30 p.m. today at the funeral home with the Rev. Billy Don Heady officiating. Burial will be in Old Thebes Cemetery.
