CHAFFEE, Mo. -- James "Jim" Henry Chronister, 81, of Chaffee passed away Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018, at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center in Foley, Alabama.
He was born Oct. 1, 1936, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Leamon Lee and Louise Campbell Chronister. He and Irmgard Pertl married Feb. 14, 1970, and she preceded him in death Aug. 28, 2003. He and Virginia Lee Harris married October 2016, and she survives of the home.
Jim retired from marketing with Burlington Northern Railroad in Chaffee. He was a member of Chaffee Masonic Lodge No. 615, Chaffee order of Elks No. 1810 and St. Louis Shriners Moolah Temple. He was in the Naval Reserve.
He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Chronister of Chaffee; two stepdaughters, Regina Boone of Jacksonville, Florida, and Macey Harris; a brother, Edward (Charlotte) Chronister of Kansas City, Missouri; and three nephews, Kevin, Kyle and Chris Chronister of Kansas City.
Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee. There will be a Shriners service at 6 p.m., followed immediately by an Elks service at the chapel.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the chapel. Burial will be at Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
