James Bryant "Odie" Carter, 46, of Jackson passed away Monday, Dec. 2, 2019.
He was born Oct. 21, 1973, in Cape Girardeau, son of William Guy and Judith Ann Nagel Carter. He and Michele Berry were married Aug. 15, 1998.
Bryant was a 1992 graduate of Jackson High School and attended Mineral Area Community College. He worked for Procter & Gamble since 1999. He was a former volunteer firefighter and assistant chief for the Gordonville Fire Protection District.
In addition to his wife of 21 years, Michele Carter of Jackson, loving survivors include a daughter, Katelyn Renee Carter of the family home; mother, Judy (Don) Summers of Cape Girardeau; sister, Kimberly (Cory) Brotherton of Cape Girardeau; stepsister, Kim (Paul) Scheffer of Marble Hill, Missouri; mother-in-law, Delphia (Gregory) Jameson of Jackson; father-in-law, Mike (Marlys) Berry of Jackson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
