WITTENBERG, Mo. -- James D. Campbell, 70, of House Springs, Mo., died Thursday, July 14, 2011, at John Cochran VA Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born April 27, 1941, at Wittenberg, son of Joseph and Catherine Primo Campbell. He and Ruby Yount were married June 2, 1962, in Farmington, Mo.
Campbell was a forklift driver at Chrysler Corp. in Fenton, Mo. He was a member of American Legion and was of the Catholic faith.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife; a son, James Campbell of High Ridge, Mo.; a daughter, Sheila Campbell of Arnold, Mo.; two brothers, Roland Campbell of Chester, Ill., Quentin "Peanuts" (Judy) Campbell of Perryville, Mo.; a sister, Janet Monsen of Pevely, Mo.; a grandchild, Justin Schweiss; cousins, nieces, nephews; and mentor to Robert Johnson of Cedar Hill, Mo.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to service time Sunday at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Deacon John Darin will officiate. Burial will be private.
Memorials preferred to Disabled Veterans Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
