MCCLURE, Ill. -- James C. "Caesar" Moore, 66, of McClure, died Wednesday, March 16, 1994, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
He was born Dec. 28, 1927, in McClure, son of Walter and Thelma Burchyett Moore. He and Phoebe J. Jones were married Dec. 24, 1952, in Piggott, Ark.
Moore was postmaster 28 years in McClure, retiring in 1988. He was a member of Carroll P. Foster VFW Post in Anna, and National Association of Postmasters of the United States. He served in the U.S. Navy from December 1945 to October 1947.
Survivors include his wife; a son, James Moore of McClure; a brother, Robert Moore of Riverside, Calif.; a sister, Beulah Rhodes of Yucaipa, Calif., and a grandson.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel in Cape Girardeau from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Greg Morrison and Doyle Randol officiating. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery at McClure, with graveside rites by VFW Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau.
