James Leo Bright, 76, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Dec. 16, 2016, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
He was born March 7, 1940, in Mayfield, Kentucky, to Kelvie W. and Odell M. Rodgers Bright.
He and Diane Cameron were married May 6, 1961, in St. Louis.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
James had worked for Tractor Trailer Supply Co. in St. Louis and retired as manager of Cape Tractor Trailer Supply Co. in 2005.
He was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Bright of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Mark J. (Mary) Bright of Kingwood, Texas, and Scott J. (Kelly) Bright of Jackson; brother, Jimmy L. (Paula) Bright of St. Charles, Missouri; six grandchildren, Katelyn Goudge, Kelsey Bright, Cameron Bright, Lily Bright, Sophie Bright and Reece Bright; great-granddaughter, Charlotte Goudge; and brother-in-law, Vester Pittman of Mayfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson Ryan Bright; granddaughter Hannah Bright; and sister, Norma Pittman.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7:30 p.m. today at Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral will be at 7:30 p.m. today at the church, with the Rev. Mark Anderson officiating.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with full military honors by the Missouri Honor Team.
Memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer's Association.
