James Blanchard, 55, of St. Louis, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, from an automobile accident.
He was born April 29, 1945, in Charleston, Mo., son of Angelo and Katie Heard Blanchard. He married Delores A. "Dee Dee" Rodgers,. She died in April 2000.
Blanchard was a graduate of Charleston High School, a member of Ecclesia of Christ First Assembly Church in St. Louis and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Survivors include a son, Angelo Cortez Blanchard of St. Louis; four brothers, W.C. Blanchard, Ulysses Blanchard and Melvin Blanchard, all of St. Louis, and Mitchell Blanchard of Washington, D.C.; four sisters, Ruth Ann Smith and Teresa Simmons of St. Louis, Barbara Walker of Denver, Colo., and Earnestine Clark of Kansas City, Mo.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at the Ecclesia of Christ First Assembly Church, 6349 LaLite, in St. Louis. The Rev. Ellie Collier will officiate.
Friends may call from 9-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sparks Funeral Home in Charleston, Mo. Military rites and graveside services will be at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery in Charleston.
