ADVANCE -- James E. Bess, 79, of Advance died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born June 12, 1919, at Rumbranch, son of Charlie and Oma Shell Bess. He and Lovevota Kinnison were married Jan. 12, 1947, at Marble Hill.

James was a retired farmer. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Advance, and a member of MFA State Board of Directors.

Survivors include his wife; a son, James Bess of Advance; and a sister, Helen Weissenborn of St. Louis.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Charles Bess and Larry Greenfield officiating. Burial will be in Baker Cemetery at Marble Hill.
