JACKSON -- James "Bud" Barks, 63, of Fort Worth, Texas, died Sunday, Oct. 27, 1991, at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.
He was born April 4, 1928, at Crump, son of H. Lewis and Georgia Proffer Barks.
Barks moved from Jackson to Fort Worth 15 years ago. He was an electrician many years. Barks was a member of Teamsters Union and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
Survivors include a son, Ron Barks of Los Angeles, Calif.; two daughters, Melissa Kane of St. Louis, Nedra Portell of Festus; three sisters, Beulah Williams of Cape Girardeau, Dorothy Williams and Naomi Thompson of Jackson, and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at McCombs Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Arvil Huffman will officiate, with burial in Proffer Cemetery at Crump.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
