ADVANCE, Mo. -- James Robert Abbott, 53, of Advance died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004, at St. Luke Hospital at St. Louis, Mo.
He was born Dec. 20, 1950, at Bloomfield, Mo., son of Frank and Nellie Hurt Abbott. He and Mary Karen Leadbetter were married April 13, 1974, in Bollinger County, Mo.
Abbott was a retired shipping foreman with Missouri Industries at Dexter, Mo. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the First Assemby of God.
Survivors include two daughters, Jennifer Laird of Advance and Laura Abbott of Benton, Mo; a half brother, Emery Abbott of Sikeston, Mo.; two half sisters, Willena Krueger of Success, Ark., Francis Sherman of Arnold, Mo.; and a granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a half brother and his parents.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel at Advance.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Revs. Brad Moore and Gary Cooper officiating. Burial will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, Mo.
