Funeral service for James A. Margrabe of San Rafael, Calif., formerly of Granite City, Ill., was held Nov. 25 at Irwin Chapel in Granite City. The Rev. Michael Hart officiated, with burial in Sunset Hills Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, Ill.

Margrabe, 35, died Sunday, Nov. 20, 1994, at his home. He had been ill four months.

He was born June 10, 1959, in Cape Girardeau, son of Robert and Madonna Parker Macke.

Margrabe had resided in San Rafael four years, and had been an assistant activity coordinator with Fifth Avenue Convalescent Hospital there for two years. He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Granite City.

Survivors include his parents; two brothers, William "Jason" and Michael "Gene" Margrabe, all of Granite City; a sister, Michelle Siemer of Glen Carbon, and grandmother, Lucille Parker of Cape Girardeau.
