PERRYVILLE -- James Arliss Barnes, 70, of Perryville, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 1995, at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
He was born Feb. 1, 1925, at Centerville, son of Hugh Houston and Rosa Mae Smith Barnes. He and Virginia L. Griffin were married Aug. 11, 1951.
Barnes served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Diane Broeker, Deborah Orman and Cheryl Barnes of Perryville; two sons, James Barnes Jr. of Perryville, Dennis Barnes of St. Louis; a brother, Howard Barnes of Fulton; 11 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Service and burial was private.
Miller Family Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
