Jai Kishuri Tikoo, 78, of Cape Girardeau passed away Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 25, 1943, in Srinagar, Kashmir, India, to Gopi Nath Agha and Janki Wattal. She and Dr. Mohan Tikoo were married June 2, 1969, in Srinagar.
She graduated from the University of Jammu and Kashmir with a master's degree in economics in 1968. Jai Kishuri was a loving mother and a homemaker.
Loving survivors include her husband of nearly 52 years; a daughter, Dr. Sonia Tikoo-Schantz; a son-in-law, Dr. Christopher Schantz; and grandson, Leto Schantz.
Also surviving are a sister, Dr. Nancy Mattoo; brothers, Surender Kumar (Nimmi) Agha, Mohan (Lalta) Mattoo and Chaman (Nirmal) Wattal; brothers-in-law, Chaman (Phoola) Tikoo and Tej Krishen (Rameshwari) Tikoo; sisters-in-law, Sheela (Omkar Nath) Koul, Santosh (Vinod) Zutshi and Reeta Hakoo; as well as many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews whom Jai Kishuri loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Brij Nath Agha, and his wife, Raj Dulari Agha; and two brothers-in-law, Rakesh Hakoo and Ram Ji Mattoo.
There are no services at this time.
