ANNA, Ill. -- Funeral for J.P. "Jade" Land of Anna will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hileman and Parr Funeral Home in Jonesboro, Ill. The Rev. Raymond Oxford will officiate. Burial will be in Valley Mission Cemetery, with graveside rites by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today. Jonesboro Masonic Lodge will conduct rites at 7.
Land, 62, died Wednesday, July 26, 2000, at his home.
He was born Jan. 25, 1938, in Jonesboro, son of Bert A. and Larata P. Wright Land. He and Yvonne Gibson were married July 9, 1958. She died March 10, 1998. He and Juanita Aldridge were married Nov. 27, 1999, in Millcreek.
Land was a retired equipment operator. He was a member of Midwest Operating Engineers Local 150 in Elgin, Ill., and Jonesboro Masonic Lodge. He attended a Baptist church.
He served 12 years in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife; a stepson, Richard Ellet of De Soto, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Linda Young of Chester, Ill., Lori Ellet of Clovis, N.M.; his stepmother, Ethel Land of Maynard, Ark.; and a half sister, Mary Stock of Union City, Okla.
Also surviving are eight half brothers, Bert, William, George, Jack, Darrell, Melvin and Sam Land of Pocahontas, Ark., Robert Land of Copperas Cove, Texas; six stepgrandchildren; and two great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister and a half sister.
