Jacqueline Jo Owens, 77, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008, at Delmar Garden on the Green in Chesterfield, Mo.

She was born July 31, 1931, in St. Louis, daughter of James Tipton and Elsie May Taylor Holder. She and the Rev. Charley Alvin Owens were married Oct. 14, 1978, in Scott City. He died April 16, 1993.

Owens was an assembly line worker at Bussman Fuse in St. Louis. She was a member of Apostolic Lighthouse Church in Scott City, and volunteered at Cape Girardeau Nursing Center.

Survivors include two sons, Terry Mitchell of St. Louis, John Mitchell of Mesa, Ariz.; three daughters, Katherine Palmer of Brazil, Ind., Gail Johnson of Chesterfield, Shelia Mitchell of Benton, Mo.; 17 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Carol Sue Sontag and Marlyn J. Deaton; three brothers and a sister.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Robert Smithey officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Memorial Cemetery in Scott City.
