SCOTT CITY -- Jackie Willard Blankenship, 58, of Scott City, died Thursday, Nov. 3, 1994, at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
He was born Oct. 18, 1936, at Fornfelt, son of Edgar Lee and Alma Alice Brant Blankenship.
Blankenship was retired from the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Melinda K. Blankenship; a son Jackie Blankenship Jr. of Aviano, Italy; a daughter, Sheri Broyles of Corpus Christi, Texas; his mother of Chaffee; four brothers, Robert Blankenship of Jacksonville, Fla., Kenneth Blankenship of Benton, Richard and Roy Blankenship of Scott City; a sister, Ruby Fowler of Jacksonville, and three grandchildren.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Scott City after noon Saturday.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Rennie Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery, with military graveside rites by Scott City VFW Post 6407.
