Jackie D. Schwettman, 85, of Cape Girardeau passed away at 7:45 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27, 2020, at Lutheran Home. He was born June 1, 1934, in Cape Girardeau to Darl and Selma Heise Schwettman. He married Evon Evans on Feb. 20, 1960. She survives. Jackie received his bachelor's in industrial electronics from Southeast Missouri State University. He retired as plant manager from Lee Rowan Co. in Jackson. His passion was training Tennessee Walking horses. He was a member of Hanover Lutheran Church...

Jackie D. Schwettman, 85, of Cape Girardeau passed away at 7:45 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27, 2020, at Lutheran Home.

He was born June 1, 1934, in Cape Girardeau to Darl and Selma Heise Schwettman. He married Evon Evans on Feb. 20, 1960. She survives.

Jackie received his bachelor's in industrial electronics from Southeast Missouri State University. He retired as plant manager from Lee Rowan Co. in Jackson. His passion was training Tennessee Walking horses. He was a member of Hanover Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Evon of Cape Girardeau; granddaughters, Brooke Schwettman of Springfield, Missouri, Taylor Conrad of Paducah, Kentucky, Heather Conrad of Marble Hill, Missouri, and Amber Schwettman of Sikeston, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Faith, Zane and Eli; and several brothers and sisters-in law.

Jackie was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; two sisters; and two children, Kimberly Susan Kennon and Cameron Schwettman.

The family will host a memorial service at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hanover Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.

Crain Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Cape Girardeau is in charge of cremation arrangements.
