PULASKI, Ill. -- A celebration of life service will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Oct. 3 at the pavilion of Pulaski County Fairgrounds, 497 W. Commercial Ave., in Pulaski, Illinois, for Jackie Dean and Peggy Sue Roberts, and their daughter, Colleen Roberts, all formerly of Pulaski. Full military honors will be given for Jackie, and John Windings will officiate.
A barbecue dinner provided by Shane "Bear" Parker will follow the service.
Inurnments will take place at 1 p.m. Oct. 4 at Alto Pass Cemetery in Alto Pass, Illinois. Brother-in-law Sam Abell will officiate.
Jackie Dean Roberts, 84, passed away Friday, Sept. 11, 2020, in Pennsylvania. Peggy Sue Roberts, 78, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016, in Florida. Colleen Roberts, 61, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, in Florida.
Jack was a retired U.S. Air Force veteran, former mayor in Pulaski, former chief of the Pulaski Fire Department, former instructor at Shawnee Community College in Ullin, Illinois, and a grandstand announcer and member of the Pulaski County Fair Board. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorials to Pulaski County Fair Association, P.O. Box 98, Pulaski, IL 62976, in memory of Jack Roberts.
Peggy was a retired cook and supervisor with Meridian Elementary in Mounds, Illinois. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorials to American Cancer Society in memory of Peggy Roberts.
Colleen worked in food services at Winter Haven Hospital in Florida.
Survivors include a son and brother, Mike (Kathy) Roberts of Blue Mound, Texas; daughters and sisters, Nadeen (Bud) Miller of Kittanning, Pennsylvania, and Molly (Jeff) Stricker of Bartow, Florida; granddaughter and niece, Amanda Kaus; grandson and nephew, Timothy D. Roberts; Peggy's sisters, Dianna (Sam) Abell and Zelda (Buddy) Holt; Peggy's brother, Danny (Mary Ann) Riddle; and other relatives and friends.
