Jackie Hengst, 73, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, July 26, 2015, at Southeast Hospital.
He was born Dec. 8, 1941, in Cape Girardeau to Lester and Ethel Maevers Hengst. He and Mary Evelyn Adams were married Aug. 5, 1967, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.
Jackie was a 1959 graduate of Central High School. He served in the Navy at the beginning of the Vietnam War.
Jackie was a salesman at Southeast Missouri Builders Supply and Riverside Lumber Cos. He previously had worked for Southwestern Bell in Texas. He was a member of Eagles Aerie 3775.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Hengst of Cape Girardeau; a son, Steven Hengst of Cape Girardeau; and grandchildren, Bailey and Colton Hengst.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Judith McDowell.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Egypt Mills, with the Rev. Barry L. Pfanstiel officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Egypt Mills.
