MOUNDS, Ill. -- Jack C. Taylor, 80, of Avondale, La., formerly of Mounds, died Wednesday, May 3, 2006, at his home.
He was born Aug. 4, 1926, in Keokuk, Iowa, son of J. Curtis and Fern McNeill Taylor. He married Frances Rust.
Taylor was a math teacher several years with Mounds Township School District, and retired as an engineer with Union Carbide.
He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jack Taylor Jr. of Marrero, La., James Taylor of Kenner, La.; three daughters, Mary Ellen Birdwell of Woodland, Texas, Geneva Tassin of Houston, Texas, Mary Elizabeth Taylor of Boulder Creek, Calif.; a brother, Leslie Taylor of Mounds; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge, Ill. The Rev. Kelly Cox will officiate.
Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge is in charge of arrangements.
