Jack Reiss

Jack Lee Reiss, 89, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Perryville, Missouri, passed away Monday, May 15, 2023, at Saint Francis Medical Center .

He was born Oct. 11, 1933, in Perry County, Missouri, to William L. and Elsie Anna McAtee Reiss.

Jack was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. He retired after working 50 years at Gilster-Mary Lee cake plant in Perryville.

Survivors include a brother, Ronald (Gail) Reiss of Jackson; niece, Michelle (Michael) Chappell of Forest Hill, Maryland; and three great-nephews, Justin, Connor and Logan Chappell.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a nephew, Christopher Reiss; and great-niece, McKaeley Chappell.

Visitation will be from 9 to 9:50 a.m. Saturday, May 20, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 20, at the church, with the Rev. Ben Melaku, C.M., officiating. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Louis Children's Hospital NICU in St. Louis.
