Jack Norman May, 79, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Marble Hill, Missouri, peacefully entered eternal life Sept. 6, 2015, from the Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau. Born in Cape Girardeau on March 19, 1936, he was the son of Robert Norman and Dorothy Winder May.
Jack touched the lives of many people with his warm smile. He enjoyed truck driving, horseback riding, shenanigans and spending time with his family.
He leaves to cherish his memory his love, Sue May; his brothers, Donnie (Marilyn) May, Bill Abernathy and Charles "Runt" Howard; sisters, Maxine (Nelson) Floyd, Jennie (Sam) Baker and Sherry Abernathy; son, Rick May; daughters, Crystal (Ryan) Prasanphanich, Christina (Jim) Plassman and Tyra (Rick) Schmidt; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; as well as other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Jerry May; sister, Polly Abernathy; daughter, LaWanna May; son, Teddy May; and his parents, Norman May and Dorothy Winder-Abernathy.
Visitation will be at 9 a.m. until service time today at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Fred Ritter officiating. Burial will follow in Hayne's Chapel Cemetery near Burfordville, Missouri.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the "hey baby" members of the Life Care Centers of America as well as to Crown Hospice. Their dedication and effort to provide quality care were a heartwarming blessing to the entire family.
