Jack Harold Moore, 80, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Oct. 5, 2001, at the Missouri Veterans Home. He was born April 21, 1921, in Moberly, Mo., the son of Harry and Lula Manuel Moore. He married Mary Ann Lynch March 12, 1943, at Coral Gables, Fla. She died Dec. 16, 1985...

Jack Harold Moore, 80, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Oct. 5, 2001, at the Missouri Veterans Home.

He was born April 21, 1921, in Moberly, Mo., the son of Harry and Lula Manuel Moore. He married Mary Ann Lynch March 12, 1943, at Coral Gables, Fla. She died Dec. 16, 1985.

During World War II, he was a Navy flyer bombardier, earning the rank of lieutenant commander, and was the admiral's navigator.

He worked for the former Missouri Utilities in Cape Girardeau, retiring as vice president of gas operations on Jan. 1, 1984. He was a lieutenant commander in the Naval Reserve, retiring in 1963.

He was a Catholic. He was a 27-year member of Rotary International, a Paul Harris Fellow and a member of the Tower Club.

He is survived by a daughter, Helen Lee Bibby of St. Charles, Ill.; and two brothers, Robert H. Moore of San Diego, Calif., and William Thomas Moore of Lemon Groves, Calif.

He also was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home.

Service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Full military rites by the Missouri Honor Guard will be conducted at 4 p.m. Monday at St. Mary's Cemetery in Moberly. Graveside rites will be conducted by the Rev. Mike Coleman.
