CAIRO, Ill. -- John J. "Jack" Hill, 70, of Cairo died Monday, June 2, 1997, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Blytheville, Ark.
He was born May 9, 1927, in Cairo, son of James Roy and Elizabeth Thomas Hill.
Hill was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and Cairo Elks Lodge. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Marie; a daughter, Jacqueline Robertson of Olmsted; two sisters, Margaret Karcher of Scottsdale, Ariz., Helen Chandler of North Highlands, Calif.; two brothers, Robert Hill of Fair Oaks, Calif., and Thomas Hill of Park Hills.'
He was preceded in death by a son and brother.
Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo after 5 p.m. Thursday. The rosary will be recited at 7:30.
Funeral Mass will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Church, with the Rev. Jerome Fortenberry officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Villa Ridge.
