Jack H. Kohrumel of 1327 Howell died Sunday, May 4, 1997, at Saint Francis Medical Center. He was 68 years old. He was born June 17, 1928, in St. Louis, the son of Eugene and Bess Elworthy Kohrumel. Jack H. Kohrumel of 1327 Howell died Sunday, May 4, 1997, at Saint Francis Medical Center. He was 68 years old.

He was born June 17, 1928, in St. Louis, the son of Eugene and Bess Elworthy Kohrumel. On Jan. 29, 1951, he married Nadyne Williamson in Illmo. She preceded him in death April 13, 1990. He was also preceded in death by his father and one brother.

He worked in management with Burton Gerhardt Construction Company and in sales and management with KGMO radio station. He also worked with Southwestern Bell and as a self-employed insurance agent. He retired with Drury Displays in 1995.

He was a former member of the U.S. Marine Corps and attended Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church.

He was an active member for many years with the Exchange Club, Chamber of Commerce and Cape Jaycees. He served on the board of directors for the United Fund and was a former board member and past president of the Cape Civic Center.

In 1962 he served as chairman of the March of Dimes. He also received the Key Man award and the Outstanding Young Man award from the Cape Jaycees that year.

He is survived by his mother, of Wilmington, Del.; one daughter, Becki Marley of Cape Girardeau; one brother, Bob Kohrumel of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and two grandchildren.

Friends may call at Ford & Sons Mount Auburn Chapel today from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel, with the Rev. David Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park.
