LESTERVILLE, Mo. -- Montie Vernon "Jack" Goggin of Lesterville passed away Friday, May 4, 2018, at the age of 93 years.
Jack was born Sept. 8, 1924, the first son of Oscar and Bessie Adams Goggin at Lesterville.
He served in the U.S. Army for two years during World War II.
He and Nova Arizona King were married June 20, 1947.
Jack was known and respected in the community as a hardworking, generous man. Many counted him as friend and neighbor. He loved life, people and God. Jack's vocations were farming, construction and long-haul trucking.
Jack served the Lord with diligence his entire adult life. He was honored for his 60 years of service as a deacon at First Baptist Church
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nova Goggin; three sisters, Maxine Walker, Betty Turnbaugh and Jessie Chitwood; and two brothers, Clifford Goggin and Charles Goggin.
He is survived by two brothers, Bill Goggin and Jim (Belinda) Goggin. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces and other family members, who will miss him greatly.
The family wishes to express sincere appreciation and thanks for all who helped Jack and Nova with dedication and commitment.
The funeral service was held Tuesday at Lesterville First Baptist Church.
Arrangements were by McSpadden Funeral Home of Lesterville.
