Jack Allen Evans, 74, of Scott City died Friday, May 9, 2014, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born July 10, 1939, in Allenville, Missouri, to J.R. and Isabell Slinkard Evans. Jack Allen Evans, 74, of Scott City died Friday, May 9, 2014, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 10, 1939, in Allenville, Missouri, to J.R. and Isabell Slinkard Evans. He married Mary Lynn Gibbs on Dec. 4, 1967.

He was a tech at Southwestern Bell and a member of the Elks Club in Cape Girardeau and Kimbeland Golf Club. He served in the U.S. Air Force.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lynn; a daughter, Pam (Kevin) Smith of Columbia, Missouri; two sisters, Jean (P.M.) Kurre of Jackson and Susan (Ronald) Estes of Marble Hill, Missouri; and four grandchildren, Jonah, Erika, Cooper and Benton Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a twin sister, Jill Myer; and a brother, Jerry Evans.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City.

Burial will be at a later date.
