SIKESTON, Mo. -- Ivan D. Moore, 85, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2022, surrounded by his loving family at his home.
He was born July 15, 1936, at Hornersville, Missouri, to the late Carl and Pearl Trentham Moore. On Oct. 1, 1983, he married the love of his life, Lawanna Lohmann, who survives of the home.
Ivan was a truck driver for most of his life until he retired and took an interest in woodworking. Ivan could make anything. He loved to go camping and travel, especially to Branson, Missouri. That was his favorite. Ivan had a great love for reading -- westerns to be exact, He read thousands of them.
Also surviving is his son, Rhett (Donna) Moore; four daughters, Stacy (Paul) Venable, Tracy (Mark) Blackburn, Wendy (Herbie) Gilder and Rebecca Ethridge; two sisters, Wilma Butler and Kathryn Morgan; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ivan was preceded in death by a brother, Leon Moore. and sister, Viola Tibbles.
Family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1 p.m. Friday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston. The Rev. Douglas Breite will officiate. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. Friday in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
