Ivan E. Heise, 83, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Feb. 16, 2024, at Mercy Hospital Southeast.
He was born July 2, 1940, in Cape Girardeau to Elmer Theodore and Hazel Marie Maevers Heise. He and Doris Jean Huber were married Jan. 8, 1959, in Jackson.
He worked at Wagner Electric in St. Louis, R.B. Potashnick and Procter & Gamble 26 years as a line operator and service technician. He also farmed.
Ivan was a school bus driver for Nell Holcomb School District for nine years and a volunteer for East County Fire Protection District. He also loved to mow grass.
He was a member of Hobbs Community Church and was active with Promise Keepers.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Heise; son, Roy Lane (Deana) Heise; and two daughters, Debra (Michael) Frank and Lisa Lincoln, all of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren, Tim Frank, Shelley (Zachary) Fischer, Michael (Elisha) Heise, Christopher (David Hopple) Heise, Alisha (Shane) Wallis and Ashley (Kyle Hente) Schwartz; and nine great-grandchildren.
Ivan was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harold Heise; and sister, Dorothy Pinkston.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jeff Lohrstorfer officiating. A dear friend, Roger Rice, will take part in the eulogy ceremony.
Entombment will be at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial contributions may be given to Hobbs Community Church.
