IVAH ELLEN SCHAFER

Ivah Ellen Schafer, 98, a resident of the Bertrand Retirement Home in Bertrand for four years, died Monday, July 8, 1991 at the retirement h.

She was born June 5, 1893 at Allenville, the daughter of John R. and Melinda Davis Deweese.

On April 12, 1919, she married Luther S. Schafer in Allenville. He preceded her in death Oct. 13, 1966.

She was a member of the Red Star Baptist Church where she was one of the oldest members of the church. She was also a member of Red Star Sunday School circle.

Survivors are four daughters, Juanita Neal, Jonesboro, Ark., Wilma Heckman, Charleston, Mo., Madra Henry, Cape Girardeau, JoAnn Landers, Downers Grove, Ill.; one son, Donald R. Schafer, Fenton; and 16 grandchildren.

Three sons preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel with the Rev. Cy Smith and the Rev. Orville Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
