Iva Thompson

BOERNE, Texas -- Iva M. Thompson, 90, of Boerne, formerly of Friedheim, died March 17, 2008, at the Town and Country Manor in Boerne.

She was born Feb. 16, 1918, near Daisy, daughter of James and Nora Stearns Hahs. She and Eldon E. Thompson were married Aug. 7, 1935. He died March 31, 1998.

Thompson and her husband farmed in the Friedheim area in the early part of their marriage. They moved to Colorado Springs, Colo., in 1943, where she worked as a seamstress and in the dry-cleaning business. In 1994 they moved to San Antonio.

Survivors include two sons, Terry Thompson of San Antonio and Tom Thompson of Menlo Park, Calif.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson, with the Rev. Richard Combs officiating.

McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.
