IVA J. JOHNSTON

EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral service for Iva Joan Johnston of East Prairie was held Saturday at Shelby Funeral Chapel. Mike Johnson officiated, with burial in Dogwood Cemetery near here.

Johnston, 89, died Thursday, March 11, 1993, at East Prairie Nursing Center.

She was born Jan. 2, 1904, in Mayfield, Ky., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lon McClendon. She and Lexie B. Johnston were married Jan. 1, 1921. He died in 1963.

Survivors include five sons, Loyce, Medwick, Malcome and Bryant Johnston of East Prairie, Goalder Johnston of Hazelwood; three daughters, Florence Laramie of Florissant, Edith Moore of Murray, Ky., and Imogene Gulledge of St. John's; 28 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, two daughters and four grandchildren.
