MCCLURE, Ill. — Iva Emmons, 94, died Saturday, March 29, 2008, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Nov. 7, 1913, in Delta, Ill., daughter of Melinda Goodman and Edmond Sylvester Gearing. She married William Noah Emmons Aug. 14, 1938, in St. Louis. Bill passed away Dec. 22, 1982.

Surviving are nieces and nephews, including Doris Taylor of McClure with whom she made her home.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, five sisters and two infant siblings.

Iva was a member of the Assembly of God Church at Wolf Lake, Ill., and a longtime volunteer at Teen Challenge Thrift Store.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at McClure Pentecostal Church, with the Revs. Bob Smithey and Jim Stamp officiating. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery.
